Davidson Chinchillas - Specialising in Charcoal Chinchillas

Although my chinchilas are first and foremost my beloved pets, I do attend some of the NCS (National Chinchilla Society) shows as a hobby. In my first season (2005/6) I have been successful with every chinchilla I have entered - all of which I bred.

Chinchillas are entered into either the Novice or Main Show. In my first season I showed my chinchillas in the Novice Section. Chinchillas who win 1st Awards in the Novice Section then go up to the Main Class. There they compete with the 1st ribbon winners in their respective classes for the Main Show Awards. To win Main Show Awards is a real achievement. I have been fortunate to win several Main Show Awards with my chinchillas this season.

Southern Region Show - Bugbrooke 13/11/05.

Gracie - Standard Carrying Charcoal : Novice  - 1st award (Medium Dark Standard), Best Novice Standard.

Main Class - Best Adult Female, Reserve Adult Standard. 

Gracie was the first Davidson Chinchilla born at The Manor so I was thrilled she did so well at my first ever show.

Calleigh - Charcoal:

Novice - 1st Award. (Adult Mutation)

 This was a huge acheivement - not only was Calleigh the first Davidson bred full charcoal born at The Manor but she had a very diffcult start in life - she was lucky to have survived her birth. The 1st award with a charcoal, even as a novice, is quite rare.
